Christian Nuehlen founded Aircraft Finance Germany (AFG) in 2017 with a vision to create a different kind of aircraft trading firm—one that combines deep industry expertise with personalized service and innovative solutions.

As CEO, Christian draws on more than 20 years of experience across all facets of commercial aviation. His career journey reflects a unique blend of legal expertise, business acumen, and practical industry knowledge that enables him to understand complex challenges from multiple perspectives.

Prior to establishing AFG, Christian built a strong foundation in aviation finance and consulting. In 2007, he founded Blueberry Xpress Deutschland, a successful consulting firm serving leading aircraft lessors, airlines, banks, and consulting firms. Under his leadership, the firm expanded to Singapore in 2011, establishing a strong presence in the Asian market.

His earlier roles include serving as a management board member and general counsel of XL Airways Germany, where he gained valuable insight into airline operations and management. Christian began his aviation career in the legal department of Aero Lloyd German Airlines and with US-based aviation consulting firm Morten Beyer & Agnew.

Christian holds a law degree from the University of Münster, Germany, and an MBA from the Graduate School of Business at Providence College, USA. This dual background in law and business provides him with a comprehensive understanding of both the legal and commercial aspects of aviation finance.

As an active member of the German-American Lawyers Association and the International Society of Transport Aircraft Trading (ISTAT), Christian stays at the forefront of industry developments. He regularly shares his expertise through publications in industry journals and speaking engagements at international aviation conferences.

Christian also serves as a guest lecturer at the Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences, teaching aviation law and helping shape the next generation of industry professionals.

Based near Frankfurt, Germany, Christian balances his professional achievements with family life, sharing his home with his wife and two daughters. This personal foundation, combined with his professional expertise, drives his commitment to building lasting relationships and delivering exceptional results for AFG's clients.
